Stamp Of Indian Revolutionary Vasudeo Balwant Phadke



On This Day Of Feb 17th 1883,Passed away an Indian revolutionary who inspired Bankim Chandra Chatterjee to write “Anand Math”.Today’s Stamp for the day is dedicated to him.
Vasudeo Balvant Phadke(Depicted On Indian Stamp of 1984)has been called the father of the armed struggle for India's freedom and it is said that it was he who inspired Bankim Chadra Chatterjee to write the patriotic novel "Anand Math". This pioneer revolutionary who died at Aden, about 100 years ago, was a valiant fighter, true to the tradition of the Peshwas ad the Marathas.
