Norway Post will celebrate the 100yrs of First Expedition to the South Pole By Amundsen by releasing set of two stamps.
Roald Engelbregt Gravning Amundsen was a Norwegian explorer who went on expeditions to the polar regions. Amundsen led the first Antarctic expedition to reach the South Pole between 1910 and 1912.
Roald Amundsen was the first person to reach both the North and South Poles.Roald Amundsen is also known as the first to traverse the Northwest Passage. Amundsen disappeared in June 1928 while taking part in a rescue mission.
