Vietnam Fauna Stamps On Ba Be National Park

Vietnam Post Recently released a set of stamps ,First day Cover and Miniature sheet on Fauna of Ba Be National Park

Ba Be is Vietnam’s largest natural lake and is now the centerpiece of an extensive National Park. The park and the surrounding area is limestone country, so lakes, waterfalls, caves and unusual rock formations abound. The whole area is richly forested and home to many ethnic minority communities. The National Park is covered by tropical and semi-tropical evergreen Thailand monsoon forest. The bio diversity is rich - 50 animal species, over 400 plants and many species of insects, reptiles and birds. The ten seriously endangered animals in the park include two primates, the Black Gibbon and the Tonkinese 'snub-nosed' monkey.

	Hoang [ Muntiacus muntjac ] Muntjac, are better known as “Barking Deer”. Barking Deer are small deer of the genus Muntiacus .The Barking Deers are the oldest known deer, which are believed to have appeared 15-35 million years ago
Ô rô vảy [ Acanthosaura lepidogaster ] Mountain horned dragons (also called pricklenape lizards)belong to genus Acanthosaura and are extensively found in Vietnam.Mountain horned Dragon species are found in montane forests and rainforests of Vietnam.
	Rùa sa nhân [Pyxidea mouhotii ] Keeled Box Turtle is a medium sized (up to 7-8 inches) terrestrial turtle that inhabits terrain and forests of Vietnam.These turtles are found in India too.
White-eared Night Heron (Gorsachius magnificus) White Eared Night Heron is a species of heron belonging to the Ardeidae family. These can be found in China and Vietnam. They are found in Its natural habitats of subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and rivers. It is an endangered Species according to IUCN
