Monaco Post Released A Stamp Dedicated To The 50th Anniversary Of First Human Space Flight By Yuri Gagarin

Monaco Post joined elite group of countries in celebrating the 50yrs of First Human Space Flight by Yuri Gagarin with the release Of a Commemorative stamp on September 28th 2011.The stamp has been designed by well known Russian artist Georgi Chichkine based out of Monte Carlo in Monaco. Yuri Gagarin literally rocketed to fame In 1961 when he became the first man in space. Strapped into a tiny spherical space capsule, Gagarin made a complete orbit of the earth, before landing safely after one hour and forty eight minutes in space after blastoff.This remarkable achievement by Yuri Gagarin By demonstrated that human being could survive weightlessness and the crushing acceleration of a rocket ascent.Yuri Gagarin’s flight paved the way for more research into the manned space flight arena.
