Peru Stamp On World Heritage Site - Machu Picchu

A Stamp On Machu Picchu World Heritage Site was released by Peru Post Recently.Machu Picchu In Peru was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1983.

Machu Picchu is a settlement built by the Incas in the 15th century. Inca, or Inka, is the name given to the inhabitants of the basin of the Huatanay River, on whose Banks the city of Cuzco was built. Before that time incas had succeeded in forming a kingdom that dominated the middle part of the Vilcanota river. The Magnitude Of Machu Picchu is Mind Boggling Keeping in Mind The Fact The Stones were hauled up during Incas Civilization by humans uphill for miles

Machu Picchu stands 2,430 meters above the sea level, in the middle of a tropical mountain forest,in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. It was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca empire at its height;its giant walls, terraces and ramps seem as if they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments. The natural setting, on the eastern slopes of the Andes, encompasses the upper Amazon basin with its rich diversity of flora and fauna.
