Stamps Of India 1960-Complete Check List



During the year 1960, India Post released  seven stamps.Prominent among them was a set of two stamps on Kalidasa’s Shakuntala . Famous Tamil Poet Thiruvalluvar known for his “Thirukurral” and Tamil poet freedom fighter “Subramania Bharti” found a place among commemorative postage stamp.

Dr.M.Visvesvaraya became the first living personality to be portrayed on an Indian Stamp to celebrate his 100th Birthday. Dr.M.Visvesvaraya passed away on April 12th 1962
