Bangladesh Released a set of stamps on Rabindranath Tagore and the Bungalows he stayed in Bangladesh.These houses were inspiration to Tagore to carry out his writings.

Rabindra Kachharibari is a memorial of Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore at Shahjadpur in Sirajganj district. The poet left behind much literary memorabilia here. Tagore' Grandfather Kumar Dwarakanath Tagore,bought the estate of Shahzadpur at a price of Taka 13.10 when it was sold off at an auction in 1840. The Tagore family then acquired the Kachharibari, established on 8 bighas of land.

Worldwide Stamp Releases For May 07th 2011

India will release stamps on Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary while Lithuania will release a stamp On Pilgrimage route of Pope John Paul.




The design of the stamps shows  Tagore writing-.In The background Upasana ghar at Santiniketan is shown; Tagore performing in his play ‘Valmiki Pratibha’ and a painting by him.

Rabindra Sangeet” is a popular form of music famous among the Bengali Community Of India. Rabindra Sangeet is also known as Tagore Songs in English was first composed by Rabindranath Tagore which created waves among the Bengali community during Indian Freedom Struggle .

Rabindra Sangeet is still embraced by the Bengalis worldwide for the simple and lucid messages it conveys.Rabindra Sangeet uses Indian classical music and traditional folk music as inspiration.Rabindranath Tagore wrote 2,230 songs which were adopted in Rabindra Sangeet.

Pankaj Kumar Mullick was born in Kolkata in 1905 to parents who had immense interest in traditional Bengali music. He came in contact with Dinendranath Tagore, who was Rabindranath Tagore's great-nephew. Pankaj Mullick's Interest grew in rest in Rabindra Sangeet after meeting Dinendranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore, in turn, grew fond of him, and soon Mullick became known as one of the leading exponents of Tagore’s songs.
